We know it’s only August, but if there’s one Christmas item worth thinking about early, it’s a LEGO Advent Calendar.

The new 2026 LEGO Advent Calendars arrive September 1, and this year we’ll have three at The Rocking Horse: LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel.

LEGO Advent Calendars are always popular around here, and they’re one of those Christmas items we recommend picking up when you see them. By the time December rolls around, the favourites can be much harder to find.

Here’s a look at the three calendars coming to The Rocking Horse this year, plus a few of the new LEGO Christmas sets we’ll be getting for the holiday season.

LEGO City Advent Calendar 2026

For younger LEGO builders, the LEGO City Advent Calendar 2026 is such a good one.

This year’s calendar takes kids straight to Santa’s workshop, with Santa, Mrs. Claus, three elves, a snowman and a baby reindeer, along with lots of little Christmas builds and accessories.

There are 24 surprises to open throughout December, and the box folds out to create a Santa’s workshop playmat. As kids open each door, they can keep adding to their Christmas scene.

The instructions for each mini build are also printed inside the calendar windows, making this a great choice for kids who are newer to LEGO.

A great pick for: Kids ages 5+ who love LEGO City, Christmas and imaginative play.

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 is centred around The Mandalorian this year, with characters, creatures and mini vehicles hidden behind its 24 doors.

It includes The Mandalorian, Moff Gideon, Grogu and a Pit Droid in holiday outfits, and Mando and Grogu even have matching Christmas sweaters. Grogu’s has Mando on it, while Mando’s has Grogu.

There are also seven mini vehicles to build, including a festive X-wing, along with LEGO versions of a Blurrg, Mudhorn, Bantha and Dewback.

There are lots of recognizable details for Star Wars fans, while still feeling very Christmasy.

LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026 is packed with superheroes, with six minifigures and 24 different gifts to open throughout December.

The minifigure lineup includes Spider-Man, Iron Man, Dr. Doom, Ghost Spider, Captain America and Wolverine, along with a collection of Christmas-themed mini builds.

There’s Spider-Man on skis, Captain America with a candy cane and shield, an Iron Man present-wrapping robot, a Dr. Doom helicopter, an X-Jet sleigh, a snowball cannon and even a Christmas tree made with green Wolverine claws.

By Christmas Day, kids will have a whole little collection of Marvel characters and builds that can be added to the LEGO they already have.

This might be one of the most fun Christmas LEGO sets we’ve seen this year.

The LEGO Star Wars Gingerbread AT-AT Walker turns the iconic AT-AT into a gingerbread house, complete with colourful decorations and a Gingerbread Darth Vader minifigure.

The sides open up to reveal the inside, where Darth Vader has a seat beside the fireplace, a table, a drinking cup, a cookie and candy cane, stockings on the wall and a pile of Christmas presents.

With 697 pieces, it’s a great holiday building project and one we can see being especially popular with older kids, teens and adult Star Wars fans.

LEGO Festive Gingerbread House

For something a little more traditional, there’s the new LEGO Festive Gingerbread House.

The finished house is covered in colourful candy-inspired details and opens up to reveal Santa’s desk, fireplace and bedroom. There’s also a Santa minifigure included.

This is the kind of set you could build together at the beginning of December and then put out with the Christmas decorations every year.

It’s also a lovely option for older kids and adults who enjoy LEGO but want something they can display once the building is finished.

LEGO Snowman Ornaments

Santa is getting the LEGO treatment this year too.

The LEGO Up-Scaled Santa Minifigure is a 761-piece version of a classic LEGO minifigure, just much, much bigger.

He has the familiar red suit, Santa hat and white beard, with movable arms and the ability to sit or stand. Once he’s built, he becomes a pretty great piece of LEGO Christmas decor.

This is another one that could easily be a gift for an adult LEGO fan as much as it could be for a kid.

When Do the 2026 LEGO Advent Calendars Come Out in Canada?

The 2026 LEGO Advent Calendars will be available September 1, including the new LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Marvel calendars.

We’ll have all three at The Rocking Horse in downtown Kingston, Ontario, and they’ll also be available to order online for shipping across Canada.

If you already know there’s a LEGO Advent Calendar going under the tree (or, more accurately, being opened every morning before the tree), it’s worth getting it crossed off the list early. These are always popular once Christmas shopping gets underway, and some themes tend to go faster than others.

We’ve carried LEGO at The Rocking Horse for more than 25 years, and every Christmas it continues to be one of the things families come in looking for most. From a first DUPLO set to something challenging for an experienced builder, there really is a LEGO set for just about everyone.
