Flamingos are famous for their bright pink feathers, stilt-like legs and S-shaped necks. They can be found in warm, watery areas like lakes. They love being near mudflats, which is an area where a lake ends, so unsurprisingly it’s really muddy. Here they build their nests, breed and have their dinner. When a flamingo spots its potential dinner, it plunges its head into the water, twists it upside down, and scoops the fish using its upper beak like a shovel. When they want to have a bit of fun, they also love going swimming! They’re great swimmers thanks to their webbed feet. Could you outswim your flamingo?
